Who we are
Star Tracker (startracker.space) is the controller of the personal data described here. Contact us at [email protected] for anything about your data.
What we collect
- Your email address (required).
- Your first name (optional).
- Your answer to "Would you pay about £7 a month?" (yes, maybe or no). We use it to judge demand for a paid tier.
We do not use advertising trackers or any cookies for analytics on this site. We count visits with Cloudflare Web Analytics, which is cookie-free and gives us aggregate figures only (how many page views each page gets, which sites sent visitors, and rough country and device type). It does not identify you, does not follow you across other websites, and we cannot see any individual visitor in it.
Why we use it
To send you a confirmation email, the free orbital mechanics pack, and our weekly email of space jobs and learning material. Nothing else, and we never sell your data. The aggregate visit counts tell us which pages are useful.
Our legal basis
Your consent (UK GDPR Article 6(1)(a)). You give it by submitting the form and confirming your address through the link we email you. You can withdraw it at any time.
If you buy something (once sales start), we use your order details to deliver it and handle refunds, because that is needed for our contract with you (Article 6(1)(b)), and keep order records to meet tax law (Article 6(1)(c)).
Who handles it for us

| Cloudflare | Hosts this website and the form that passes your details to Kit, provides Cloudflare Web Analytics, and runs Cloudflare Turnstile, a privacy-focused check that the signup form is used by a person and not a bot (it does not use cookies for advertising or track you across sites). Processes technical request data such as your IP address to serve the site; the analytics we see are aggregate counts with no personal data. Cloudflare acts as our processor. |
| Whop | When paid packs and memberships go on sale, Whop takes the payment. If you buy, Whop processes your name, email, payment details and billing country to take the payment, handle refunds and meet tax rules. We see the order and your email; we never see your full card details. Nothing is on sale yet. See also our terms of sale. |
How long we keep it
Until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete it. If you unsubscribe we may keep a minimal record that you did so, to make sure we do not email you again. Order records, once sales start, are kept for as long as tax law requires [PIETRO: confirm the period, usually 6 years].
Your rights
You can ask to see your data, correct it, delete it, restrict or object to its use, or receive a copy. Every email has an unsubscribe link, and you can also email us to be removed. We will reply within one month. If you are unhappy with how we handle your data you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
Changes
If this notice changes in a way that matters to you, we will say so in an email to the list.
